GRADUATE ACCOUNTANT
BUSINESS SERVICES TEAM
Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has become available for a recent graduate in the business services team. We are looking for someone that has a positive attitude, wants to learn and be a part of a dynamic team.
Our team is committed to your ongoing development. You will be allocated a mentor, provided with on-the-job, in-house as well as external tax training.
Your role will entail supporting the team in performing the following business services and tax compliance tasks in a professional, timely and accurate manner:
Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for companies, partnerships, trusts and individuals for a diverse range of clients across multiple industries
Preparation of workpapers and supporting schedules to accompany the financial accounts and tax returns
- Preparation of bank reconciliations
- Preparation of tax reconciliations
- Preparation of business activity statements
- Preparation of general correspondence
- Preparation of trust distribution minutes
- Scanning and filing as required
- Liaise with Australian Taxation Office
- Keep abreast of all tax legislation changes
- Achieve and maintain 85% productivity target
- Ad hoc tasks as requested by members of the team
Skills Required
The requirements of the position are:
- Completion of relevant accounting degree
- Commencement or desire to begin study of CPA/CAANZ program
- Strong desire to learn and grow with the business
- Enthusiastic, committed and reliable team player
- Ability to communicate effectively
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Some familiarity with accounting software
